Polish

Polish is the process of grinding and polishing rough diamonds to make the surface of the stones shiny. During the polishing process, polishers will fix the diamonds on the base, and use the polishing wheel and diamond powder to polish the diamonds.

  • Polished, Flat Facet

The overall condition of the polished facets is about how smoothly the facets have been polished, sharpness of the facet edge is, and whether there are any visible polish lines left by the polishing wheel. Although most of the polish lines are invisible to the naked eye, quality polish can achieve the best reflection effect.

  • Typical Diamond from Competitors

Polish is the most significant factor affecting the diamond’s brilliance. Many polishers may reduce the polishing time to save costs. Improper polishing will cause abrasion, scratches and nicks on the stone’s surface ( as shown in the above picture ), which may also affect the fire of the diamond.

DiaPure only selects the diamonds that have “Excellent” polish to ensure that every facet is polished and smooth to bring out the brightness and fire of the diamonds.

  • Diamonds that have been graded by GIA with the highest “Excellent” rating in Cut, Symmetry and Polish are 3EX ( Triple excellent ) diamonds. All DiaPure diamonds are 3EX ( Triple Excellent ) diamonds.
