Cut

Cut grade is a quantitative measurement of the brilliance and scintillation of diamonds. As diamond cut quality has a direct impact on the diamond’s interaction with light, and a well-cut diamond can bring out the sparkling beauty of the stone.

  • Excellent is the highest cut grade which indicates perfect proportions that add sparkle to the diamond.

  • Very Good

A Very Good cut diamond has scientific and superb proportions, but its brilliance, fire, and scintillation is slightly inferior to that of an Excellent cut diamond.

  • Good

A Good cut diamond has good proportions, but its brilliance, fire, and scintillation is slightly inferior to that of a Very Good cut diamond.

  • Fair

Fair grade is given to a fair diamond with fair proportions which may cause the diamonds to lose light and relatively affect the brightness.

  • Poor

Poor cut diamonds have poor proportions which will cause the diamonds to lose light and greatly affect the brightness.

  • Cut quality, which is determined by cut proportions, symmetry and polish, is the only one of the 4Cs that is affected by human. Diamonds that have been graded by GIA with the highest “Excellent” rating in Cut, Symmetry and Polish are 3EX ( Triple Excellent ) diamonds.

DiaPure exercises strict control on diamond cutting, and only accepts “3EX” diamonds that have “Excellent” cut, symmetry and polish to ensure that the diamonds you buy have a perfect cut.
